Collection Centre

To collect the local agricultural produce a number of Collection Center (CC) will be established. The CCs will be equipped enough to handle each product carefully. Under the National Horticulture Mission farmers have started to produce different varieties of fruits and vegetables. But, without any taker of the produce, all efforts will result in a fruitless venture. In this scenario bringing number of food processing unit to the area will create a dovetail situation where a sustainable demand for fruits and vegetable will be created from the unit holders’ end which will be supported by the supply of produces from the local farmers’ end.

All the produces collected in the CC level may be transported to Primary Processing Centers (PPC) which will be equipped with cleaning, grading, sorting, packaging facilities. In PPCs there will be provision of multipurpose cold storage facilities and ripening chambers depending upon the variety and quantity of produce of the region. Produces made for table purpose can go to market directly from the Primary Processing Centers (PPC) after having proper packaging and the rest will be transported to the Central Processing Centre (CPC).
